This game is Banished step sibling, the one everyone throws things at and kicks during thanksgiving.Personally, I liked the game. I thought the campaign mode was really well done. I really liked the art they used for it and the story was interesting.Yes the game has bugs, which are annoying but can be played around.If you get the game on sale, I think its definitely worth it.. It's like porn - it looks good, but the obligatory story is excrutiatingly painful to watch. It could be an okay game if they redesigned a lot of it. There are so many city builder games that I have played that I enjoyed, but this one was not one.. Villagers is a nice medivial town building game. In the campaign you get tasks to build a town and have to go on to rebuild it several times with more difficulties and other terrains because of moving of your citizens. Additionally the game has a free play mode so you also can play freely and build all the buildings which could be locked in the campaign.I like the game to building a town on different terrains and different challenges. So I recommend the game!. THIS IS NOT A BANISHED CLONE.Villagers is a God Game. The similarities to Banished are minorly asthetic, and the characteristics that come with it being a god game.Where Banished is a punishing and intense game that requires extreme dedication and time; Villagers gives you a bit more of a break and lets you discover things with a bit more time to breathe.Also not included in Banished is the story mode you get with Villagers. Its great to discover how you've become the planner of your cities and why you are trying to protect your people. This is also a wonderful introduction to the mechanics of the game.And various other differences arise as you play through the game. Most notable is dealing with merchants is done with coin, rather than a straight recource barter. This is nice because you can use what is at your disposal to pool one recource for trading with wandering merchants.TL:DR Villagers only looks a little like Banished and plays similarly due to them being connected through genre.
